Student Safeguarding and Wellbeing Team Leader - Preston
Interim for the rest of the academic year
Full Time
£30 per hour
Responsibilities;
- Keep up-to-date with legislative changes related to safeguarding, local arrangements, and statutory guidance. Collaborate with relevant professional bodies to ensure compliance with national and local requirements.
- Take prompt and effective actions to protect students at risk. Monitor and record student support to promote high retention rates.
- Collaborate with staff to raise awareness of students’ mental health needs and promote the Wellbeing Service across the college.
- Monitor different student groups (e.g., Looked After Children, Students Living independently, Young carers) and implement appropriate interventions based on attendance, achievement, retention, and progression data.
- Effectively manage staff within the service area, maintaining high standards of conduct, compliance, and performance.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications in safeguarding, wellbeing, or a related field.
- Experience using programs such as CPOMS.
- Proven experience in safeguarding practices, compliance, and student support.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
