Shift Pattern: Day Shift - 07.00 to 16.00 or 08:00 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday, and 07.00 to 12.00 on Fridays, with designated breaks.

Opportunity Summary:

We currently have a vacancy within Operations for a Stores Operative. We are looking for candidates who have relevant experience, seeking an opportunity to join a growing Organisation.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Manage and maintain stocks of production/non-production consumables, materials, detail parts, and finished parts
  • Receiving and inspecting incoming goods as appropriate, including certificates of conformity
  • Monitor stock against required inventory and re-order as appropriate
  • Ensure full traceability of all stored items/ materials
  • Support stocktaking activities
  • Issuing and kitting of materials and consumables for production/ despatch
  • Forklift truck driving and routine safety checks

General Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Read and understand the requirements on the Job Card for the operation to be carried out.
  • Ensure that all the documentation required to carry out the operation in accordance with the Job Card is available at the point of use and at the correct revision.
  • Read and understand all manufacturing instructions prior to commencing an operation, this includes, Engineering Drawings, Data Cards, etc.
  • Use of all measuring equipment as required to check conformance to requirements.
  • Carry out in process inspection in accordance with relevant specifications to ensure that components are conforming prior to passing on to subsequent operations.
  • Ensure that components identified as non-conforming during in process inspection are identified and communicated in accordance with the Non-Conformance Procedure.
  • Complete all work booking requirements within the MRP system to ensure accurate WIP records.
  • Follow work handling and storage instructions to prevent damage to components.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis activities when non-conformance occurs to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Ensure that work areas are tidy, cleaned and maintained in accordance with 5S requirements.
  • Engage and contribute to Continuous Improvement activities to maximise efficiency.
  • Comply with all company procedures and policies.

Person Specification:

  • Preferably a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Basic mathematical and IT skills are essential
  • Has a keen eye for detail and the willingness to learn
  • Demonstrates good teamwork, but should also be capable of working individually
  • Is self-driven with a positive outlook
  • Has good communication skills
  • Holds a full UK driving licence
