Here at Futures, we are delighted to be supporting a well-established FMCG Food Manufacturing business based in Leeds.

The business is one of the leaders within their own specific niche, this is mainly due to their amazing NPD team and the exciting NPD projects that they have going on. Supplying some of the biggest retailers such as Morrisons, Tesco and Asda they are extremely well known for their work.

Due, to growth their looking at appointing a Specification Technologist to join their Technical and NPD team.

Reporting into the Technical department a Specification Technologist will be responsible for ensuring that all company quality parameters and procedures are complied with and that all products manufactured meet the required standards.

Responsibilities of a Specification Technologist:

  • To assess raw materials specification data against company and retail requirements.
  • Requesting further detail and clarification from suppliers where necessary before risk assessing.
  • To update the company approved ingredient list.
  • To keep updated with current forthcoming legislation.
  • Taking part in the supplier approval process, assessing approval documentation, and providing reasoned judgement when necessary.

Successful Specification Technologist will have:

  • Degree or Equivalent in Food Technology
  • Experience across raw material risk assessment and supplier approval.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Keen eye for detail.
