A great opportunity has arisen for a Specification Manager to join an facade specialist with a primary focus on securing specifications for aluminium products by working closely with architectural practices and projects, securing commitment to use group products from architects, specifiers, and clients. This role involves utilising extensive technical knowledge and sales acumen to influence client decisions, maintaining relationships with key industry players, and providing thorough technical support and training to ensure our aluminium products are preferred and used.

Specification Manager Position Remuneration
  • Starting salary £45,000 - £50,000

Specification Manager Position Overview
  • Specification Acquisition: Drive the specification pipeline for aluminium facades alongside other key products. Engage with Architects, technical specifiers and commercial clients to ensure our products are specified in the early stages of project development.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, offering technical guidance and support to integrate company products into their projects.
  • Market Analysis: Use their extensive knowledge and understanding to conduct market research and identify new opportunities and market trends. Analyse competitor products and offerings to gain understanding where we can benefit and highlight any additional testing/products.
  • Technical Sales: Utilise knowledge of the facades market to influence client specifications and decisions. Provide details product presentations and demonstrations that highlight product benefits aligned with the client's needs.
  • Project Support: Collaborate across the project supply chain to ensure specifications are correctly interpreted and implemented. Provide technical support throughout the sales cycle.
  • Training and development: Offer training sessions for internal and external stakeholders including clients, architects, specifiers and colleagues to increase product knowledge.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation of specifications.
  • CRM and Data Management: Ensure adherence with Group CRM system and maintain an excellent level of information on project updates, client and customer interactions and outcomes.
  • Engage with and support the NPD process using their customer facing experience to highlight potential NPD opportunities, gaps in our offer and support the growth of our NPD sales.
Specification Manager Position Requirements
  • 5+ years in facades specification or technical sales with a focus on aluminium facades.
  • Engaging and able to converse with stakeholders across the supply chain.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction and architect's drawings and specifications
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and work colleagues.
  • Capable of building relationships with suppliers.
  • Able to collaborate closely with the commercial sales teams to maximise the benefit and to convert specifications to orders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and AutoCAD preferable.
  • Strong organisational skills and effective time management to meet established deadlines.
