Software Tester

I’m working with a tech-led software development company based on the outskirts of Nottingham that create e-commerce and logistics software. Their platform brings together the core features of warehouse, order and dispatch management software to simplify multi-channel retailing. These systems are used daily by the UK’s biggest delivery services and e-commerce companies.

As a software tester, your responsibilities will include performing both automated and manual tests on our applications to detect and document any defects. Your role will involve crafting test scenarios to evaluate software functionality, usability, performance, and security. After conducting these tests, you will analyse the results and communicate your findings, including any observed defects, to the development team and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities;

  • Develop, execute, and maintain functional and non-functional test cases for website, mobile, desktop applications, and APIs, including regression testing
  • Perform test reviews and create testing documentation
  • Create and maintain front-end automation scripts in a Java Selenium WebDriver framework
  • Develop and manage JavaScript API automation scripts within a shared Postman environment
  • Follow escalation process for raised issues and collaborate with testers, developers, and stakeholders
  • Participate in refinement, planning, and estimation sessions

Skills needed;

  • 3-5 years’ software testing experience with expertise in testing web applications, including UI, cross-browser compatibility, and web standards
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining automated test scripts for web browsers and APIs using JavaScript
  • Strong understanding of testing processes, methodologies, and attention to detail
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
  • Effective management of conflicting priorities with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Confident communication and participation in meetings with superior written and verbal skills
  • Skilled in relationship building, influencing, and thriving in a fast-paced environment
  • Rapid learner with the ability to adapt quickly

The role is hybrid with 1-2 days a week in the office required
