Salary: Up to circa £53,000 depending on experience

The opportunity:

Signal Processing Engineer

At MBDA, we are continuing to grow our Data Link Systems organisation, providing a world leading missile data link capability.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Digital Signal Processing Engineer, to join the team. You will be responsible for waveform and algorithm design, development and implementation on weapons system products.

This will include:

  • Real-time digital signal processing systems
  • Waveform design and implementation
  • Waveform modelling
  • System level RF modelling
  • Systems modelling and autocode generation experience
  • Requirements management and systems design
  • Technical leadership of junior engineers

You'll be part of a rapidly developing product area within MBDA, with many exciting opportunities to work on both new and established products.

Our teams have a common goal for the delivery of product design solutions that meets the customer's requirements to the schedule and cost agreed. Tasked with significantly contributing to meeting the expectations of both MBDA and the customer.

Our projects offer you the opportunity to work with a specialist team developing and handling technically challenging technology within MBDA.

We are able to consider candidates looking for a flexible working pattern within these roles.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Ideally degree qualified in a STEM subject, with an understanding of DSP algorithms, as a minimum, at systems level. A strong background in signal processing across the full product life cycle.
  • Experience with Firmware coding for DSP systems would also be a benefit
  • Proficient with Matlab and Simulink. C++ experience desirable.
  • You'll have experience in working autonomously within a multi-skilled team with a good understanding and dedication to achieving project goals.
  • You should also have a background in performing technical investigations, providing problem assessments, and propose design solutions within a culture of innovative thinking.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to produce high quality written reports and presentations to internal and external customers
