Service Engineer/Technician - Mechanical and Electrical

Our client is seeking experienced service engineers/technicians to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for the replacement, servicing, and repair of doors, loading bays, and equipment. The job will involve mechanical fitting, fault-finding control circuits, and providing electrical and mechanical services to customers both in the UK and internationally. As a home-based engineer, you will be visiting customer sites within the M25, Essex, Kent, Surrey, Slough, and Berkshire areas. You will work closely with the onsite lead engineer to manage the installation and service of new and existing projects, ensuring a quality service is delivered within agreed timescales.



Main Duties:

  • Provide electrical and mechanical services to customers
  • Effectively manage escalations and reduce customer downtime
  • Record and report all activities and maintenance requirements
  • Promote sales of maintenance services and equipment
  • Prepare technical reports and assist with quotations
  • Execute installations in line with customer requirements
  • Abide by site Health & Safety requirements
  • Will need to attend training and meetings at the head office in Sittingbourne, Kent on occasions. 


Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience in field service or mechanical engineering
  • Strong mechanical/electronic comprehension
  • Electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
  • Ability to use handheld tablets for reporting
  • Competent using MS Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)
  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence and CSCS Card
  • 18th Edition Electrical Safety qualification
  • IPAF Certificate and ECS card
  • GCSE O' Level education and middle-level educational background, preferably combined with a mechanical/electrical focus
  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • Hours are 6am-6pm (door to door) working 8.5 per day over a 12 hour period. After that it is classed as overtime (@time 1/2). After midnight and weekends is double pay
