Senior Trading Underwriter - Tameside

We are excited to be working with a highly reputable MGA is in search of an experienced Senior Trading Underwriter to strengthen their Commercial Team. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for underwriting new business, facilitating modifications and renewals, and fostering relationships with brokers and insurers. Your expertise will be instrumental in achieving income objectives for New Business while ensuring strict adherence to industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new business to achieve target loss ratios and contribute to income objectives.
  • Cultivate robust relationships with brokers through various communication channels.
  • Deploy effective trading methods to secure high conversion rates and successful lead-to-quote outcomes.
  • Ensure meticulous compliance with internal processes, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Efficiently manage workload, promptly addressing customer inquiries and requests.
  • Handle telephone calls and uphold service level agreements.
  • Address complaints in accordance with company protocols, ensuring equitable treatment of customers.
  • Stay abreast of technical, legal, and market developments through ongoing training initiatives.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum of 5 years' Commercial Underwriting experience within a composite or MGA.
  • Proven ability to cultivate strong relationships and adeptly manage stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving high conversion rates through effective trading methods.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in interpreting complex data.
  • Comprehensive understanding of insurance market dynamics, products, pricing, and profitability.
  • Exceptional communication skills across various platforms and with stakeholders at all levels.
