Senior Requirements Engineer
My client is a consultancy in the public sector and are looking for a Senior Requirements Engineer to spearhead the requirements engineering and strategic change for a significant public sector procurement on a large Category A program.
Responsibilities:
- Utilise systems engineering expertise for requirements engineering and/or test, evaluation, and acceptance planning.
- Proficiently use systems engineering toolsets and modelling methods to analyse customer demand and supplier performance.
- Build and maintain client-centred relationships through effective communication.
- Adapt consulting style to provide effective challenge and persuasion.
- Navigate public sector procurement processes with confidence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various stakeholders.
- Act as a thought leader, inspiring innovation and turning ideas into reality.
- Apply approaches such as integrated requirements engineering and benefits realization.
- Utilise tools like Dimensions RM, DOORS, Excel, PowerBI.
- Ensure strong configuration control and documentation practices.
- Manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
Requirements:
- Strong systems and/or requirements engineering skills.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or similar.
- Familiarity with public sector procurement and defence operating model.
- Experience with tools like Dimensions RM, DOORS, Excel and PowerBI.
- Knowledge of MOD requirements approach and systems engineering Vee model.
- Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC) as a minimum.
- Comfortable with managed risks and effective impact assessment.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with MOD Cat A or B programs.
- Knowledge of non-military satellite communications.
- Familiarity with MoD Front Line Command Structures.
- Understanding of Knowledge in Defence (KiD) guidance.
- Proficiency in database development and structured query languages.
- Successful new business development and bidding experience.
- Modelling and architectural skills with a wide range of toolset experience.
