Our client, an engineering company based in Newtown are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join their innovative team.
As a Senior Power Electronics Engineer, you will be at the forefront of creating cutting-edge designs, developing critical power components, and crafting analogue, digital, and electronic circuits and systems for power electronics.
Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the creation of new designs and critical power components.
- Design and develop analogue, digital, electronic circuits, and systems for power electronics.
- Ensure that designs meet functional requirements and comply with international EMC and Safety regulations.
- Create new product specifications and documentation for record-keeping purposes.
- Participate in product design reviews and interface with external suppliers.
- Work within agreed timescales and project plans.
- Provide guidance and support to other Development Engineers.
- Manage and facilitate type test meetings while developing test equipment.
- Master's Degree (MEng) in Power Electronics with a minimum of 2 years of experience as an Engineer.
- Proficiency in power electronic devices, topologies, and control systems.
- Experience with simulation tools such as PLECS, Saber, Simetrix, Pspice, or Mathlab Simulink simulators.
- Ability to build prototypes, conduct experimentation on systems, and perform bench tests.
- Working knowledge of planning tools and application of planning theory to work.
- Experience in modeling, testing, and application of high-power semiconductor and passive components.
- Strong curiosity and interest in exploring and developing new technology.
- Organized workflow from lab bench to reporting.
- Demonstrated skills in project technical leadership and willingness to work in a global environment.
- Familiarity with thermal, mechanical, or EMC for motor drives.
- Knowledge of electromagnetic and electrostatic fields simulation and test.
- Experience in motor drive design.
