Liberty has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Payroll Officer to join our team. You will be home based, working on a part time, permanent basis, working 25 hours, over 5 days per week. The role offers the choice to be based and work out of anyone of our offices, therefore you need to be in commutable distance. Please check our website for the list of offices. Responsibilities for the Senior Payroll Officer will include:

Responsible for the whole employee life cycle

Undertake payroll administration and supervision

Role is integral to providing employees direct communication to the payroll department to resolve any pay and pension related issues

Understanding process with a view to making improvements to benefit the company and its employees

Provide service to all employees

Provide guidance for the payroll admin staff

Undertake payroll administration and communication to employees, Line Managers, Human Resources and third parties in relation to payroll and pension transactions

Provide team support and guidance

Provide a service to all employees

Support the Finance and/or HR teams

Responsible for issuing monthly P45’s, statutory forms and any other ad-hoc payroll related documentation

Help to manage the payroll inbox daily, ensuring queries are processed

Provide cover and be back up for the Payroll Manager to ensure deadlines are met and procedures followed including all payrolls being authorised to audit requirements

Balance HMRC payments and other control accounts and journals

Balance payroll related control accounts

What we are looking for in our ideal Payroll Officer:

A good level of education, GCSE Maths & English. At least 5 years previous payroll experience required and general understanding of end-to-end payroll, pension & PAYE deductions. Experience of operating a computerised in-house payroll system. Good working knowledge of payroll and/or benefit processes, workflows and practices.

Strong administration experience along with good IT literacy including Outlook, Word & Excel. A strong team player with a highly organised and methodical approach, you’ll have the ability to coordinate, manage and balance multiple projects and meet deadlines, and provide an outstanding payroll service to the business.
