Team/Role Overview

The Senior Operational Risk Manager is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in their own field and adapts them for application to develop new processes within their own job and the business.
The Processing Risk 2nd Line Of Defence (LOD) team is accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the risk and control operations of the business globally.

What you'll do
  • Oversee and challenge the application of processing risk policy framework, and uses technology and tools, and governance processes to guide 1st Line to minimise losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for processing risks, related risk, control taxonomies and governance related matters.
  • Support ORM Challenge of First Line by providing expertise while processing risks are identified, and risks are mitigated through proper control design and effectiveness.
  • Independently assess broad risk themes and drive actions to address root causes
  • Establish ongoing working relationship with other Policy owner groups, ensuring effective design and compliance with Citi requirements.
  • Lead the development and management of workshops and forums as needed and build ongoing relationships with First- and Second-Line Risk Managers, including guiding agenda coverage and escalation pathway to the Processing Risk Oversight Committee for 2LOD related concerns and associated reporting.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships across the business users and Lines of Defence across all levels.
  • Take accountability for leading multiple internal area programmes designed to enhance the operating model supporting the Processing Risk Management framework and oversight programme, leading and supporting initiatives as required.
  • Manage multiple BAU internal responsibilities and lead improvements across the team globally.
  • Provide guidance and direction to junior team members as required.
What we'll need from you
  • Experience managing development of approaches and methods, and delivering comprehensive product / deliverables.
  • Working knowledge of risk management frameworks, including governance and oversight committee management, risk appetite and risk reporting structures.
  • Subject matter expertise in 2nd line risk preferred.
  • Experience in financial services, ideally in a 2LOD or 1LOD operational risk related area with exposure to processing risk/related operational activities.
  • Knowledge of Citi businesses and structures would be beneficial.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Project Management Skills.
  • Detail oriented with analytical skills including the ability to present effectively to all levels.
