Senior Manufacturing Accountant Role

Based in Alfreton, offering hybrid working, a highly attractive salary and leading benefits


I'm delighted to be partnered with a leading specialist manufacturer, a listed company with turnover in the region of £400m.

The company are going from strength to strength and have diversified their product offering in recent years to provide a market-leading product and service offering to their diverse customer base. As a result of continued growth, this is an excellent opportunity for a qualified senior Accountant to join a talented and established operational finance team, leading on all things manufactruring finance whilst supporting a number of key manufacturing sites in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and in the North of England. This role is a significant, key appointment within the Operational Finance Team, taking responsibility for all aspects of financial and management reporting for the group operations inlcuding Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics and Recycling business areas.

The role will report directly to the Head of Operational Finance, and will act as a strategic business partner to the Group's Chief Operating Officer (C.O.O.) and the Operations Leadership Team.


Your role:

  • Act as a strategic business partner to the COO and Operations Leadership Team
  • Identify and analyse risks and opportunities to achieve annual business unit targets
  • Conduct financial appraisals and corresponding cost tracking of strategic initiatives
  • Lead, manage and support an established, talented team of Management Accountants
  • Develop a strong understanding of all areas of Operations, and become a key contact and conduit for the Operational Team
  • Support and review throughout all areas of the accounting process for manufacturing, to include Month end reporting, performance analysis, financial forecasts, annual budgets

About you

  • CIMA / ACCA qualified accountant with strong manufacturing background
  • Prior people management experience of a relatively small team is essential
  • Able to engage and communicate effectively at all levels, confident in interpreting and delivery operational opportunities and issues into financial outputs
  • A proactive and positive approach
  • A problem solver, which is able to approach issues using own initiative
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritising and managing workloads as per business need
  • SAP system experience beneficial
  • Full UK driver's license as some travel to other sites will be required on occasion
