Senior Java Developer

Avanti Recruitment is currently working with a software vendor who created the first 100% cloud-native platform for production and allocation. They specialise in the oil and gas sector and the company are now looking for a Senior Java Developer to join their already knowledgeable team. The role is fully remote, but you must be UK based.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include hands on coding, designing and implementing complex backend containerised and serverless microservices on AWS whilst leveraging AWS Lambda, Kinesis, DynamoDB and Aurora. You will also be integrating with high volume, high frequency data sources to create comprehensive and scalable solutions. You’ll work closely with stakeholders and work in an Agile team to implement best solutions.

You will get to work across the full SDLC and will develop testable, readable and effective production quality code.

You will be the type of person who has a passion for technology, any side projects would be advantageous. If you have a good understanding of architecture, design and coding then this could be the role for you.

The company don’t like people doing overtime and their servers shut off at 19:00pm to ensure you have a great work/life balance.

You will have worked on side projects or have a clear career progression path you want to take. They are looking for someone who is motivated and passionate about technology. You need to have AWS knowledge.

Required Skills:

• Excellent Java development experience
• Strong AWS experience (kinesis, DynamoDB, Athena, Lamda)
• Experience with Microservices
• Ideally you have experience with Typescript
• TDD/BDD, CI/CD

Desirable skills:

• CSS
• Also bonus points for experience with React, Node.JS or Go.
• CI/CD (Jenkins)
• TDD/BDD
• REST API’s
• SOAP
• Architectural experience

The salary on offer for this position is up to £75,000 + Remote working + Flexible hours + 25 days holiday (+ Bank holidays).
