The Market Security Group is a resource for the Group worldwide.  It annually undertakes a financial assessment of some 3,500 insurers and reinsurers used by offices worldwide, with the aim of ensuring that they continue to be secure, solvent and will be able to pay valid claims to clients. A significant amount of effort is dedicated to assessing what impact world events such as the COVID-19 crisis and natural disasters have on these insurance markets. In addition to monitoring insurers and reinsurers, the team provides added value support to clients.  This can include advice, training, and bespoke research on carriers/markets. 

The successful candidate will advise the Market Security Group on the appropriateness of assessment standards and procedures for financial analysis, in addition to providing financial security insight on carriers.  The role provides guidance and technical leadership to the MSG analyst community and represents MSG to the Market Security Committee (comprised of business leaders) and clients.   The role requires frequent interactions with brokers globally, working to ensure that deliverables support clients and add value to the broking proposition. The Senior Financial Security Analyst may lead advisory / consultancy service to both internal Colleagues and clients. 

•   Conducting detailed and high level analysis, presented both in written reports and also verbally to the Security Committee.
•   Conducting ongoing surveillance of a portfolio of insurers.
•   Ensuring that work produced by analysts meets quality and technical standards, following agreed methodology by reviewing to an appropriate standard.
•   Ensuring that all analysts are trained and developed in an appropriate manner and that knowledge is shared throughout the team
•   Providing focused and insightful analytical recommendations to the Market Security Group for sign-off or further discussion.
•   Leading meetings with (re)insurance carriers in order to obtain the information required for decisions on their status to be reached.
•   Steering more complex (re)insurance carriers through the approval process to deliver an end opinion.
•   Providing financial security advice to Colleagues, clients, potential clients and, where relevant, to past client in the event of a distressed market.
•   Adhering to standards and the Market Security Procedures manual
•   Representing the work performed by MSG to Colleagues and clients.
•   Responding to ad-hoc research requests from clients and Colleagues worldwide.
•   Liaising with business units and local offices to ensure that quality information is included in all Market Security reports
•   Leading and carrying out client specific analysis on an as required basis.
•   Working on ad hoc Market Security projects.

•   This position would suit someone educated to degree level (preferably a science, mathematics, economics or business degree) with significant insurance and financial sector analysis experience
•   A professional qualification holder (CII / CFA / ACA)
•   Demonstrable track record of experience in Market Security or a related role in the Insurance industry
•   The ability to provide insight and distil complex facts into simple messages for non-technical recipients
•   An analytical mind with the ability to draw conclusions from a wide range of data.
•   Experience of working with all levels within organisations including Board members.
•   Strong verbal and written communications skills.
•   Strong presentation skills.
•   Excellent numeracy and literacy skills. 
•   An attention to detail.
