We currently have a rare and exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Controller who has had experience working in the IT Sector to play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening our client's finance team based in Warrington.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional who aspires to progress into a Financial Director role and contribute to the strategic financial leadership of our organization, alongside focusing on constructing an exemplary finance function.

The role will be highly varied and all-encompassing including the usual tasks expected of a Financial Controller and the opportunity to work across all aspects of finance. We therefore require a passionate, motivated, self-starter who knows what an efficient, well-established finance function looks like.

As a Senior Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health and compliance of the company. This all-round role requires a hands-on individual with the skills and experience to develop, own and deliver the month-end across several multinational entities.

You will develop and implement processes and procedures and will frequently have responsibility for specific projects and tasks.

The role therefore requires excellent written and oral communication with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.

This position offers a career path to progress into a Financial Director role, making it an ideal opportunity for a motivated and ambitious financial professional.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the CEO, this role covers a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Production of the group’s monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of consolidated monthly management reports
  • Balance sheet ownership
  • Assist with the day-to-day transactional processing
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Financial analysis and KPI reporting
  • Assist with the development of a robust financial control framework
  • Liaising with external parties such as banks, auditors, lawyers, etc
  • Partnering with other departments on projects and initiatives

Key Skills and Experience

  • Be a qualified Accountant with 3+ years working in a similar role
  • Proven experience in a senior financial management role
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and best practices
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities
  • Have good experience in using accounting packages, ideally Xero
  • Have a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Be an advanced Excel user.
  • Have knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
  • Be a quick learner who enjoys a challenge and is looking to grow your career with an exciting company
  • Be passionate, work well under pressure and be driven by achieving
  • Have strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Strive to be a key part of a team and help drive forward the Finance function
  • Be energetic, determined, positive, goal focussed and consistent - even under pressure
  • Be able to build trust and demonstrate integrity in all circumstances
  • Be IT Literate
