Senior Financial Accountant - Foreign Exchange

We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant - Foreign Exchangebased in Derby for our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.

The Senior Financial Accountant - Foreign Exchange position will be based on a 12-month contract and hybrid - 3 days per week onsite.

Job description - the role

This role reports directly to the Head of Group Reporting. The successful candidate will be part of the Group Financial Control Reporting Team, responsible for the consolidation of the Group Financial control forecasts, the review of the foreign exchange process and main contact for the Civil reporting teams during period end close.

As a Senior Financial Accountant - Foreign Exchange, you will be responsible for:

• Leading the forecasting and budgeting process for Group Financial Control, challenging where appropriate and working closely with the Group FP&A team.
• Leading the review of foreign exchange postings across the businesses, providing guidance and support across the business, whilst working closely with PwC.
• Leading balance sheet reviews for Civil and build business understanding; be the business point of contact within the team for reporting related queries.
• Reviewing business submissions in HFM each period, with additional focus on statutory submissions during the quarterly closes.
• Completing and reviewing specific notes for the RR Holdings and RR Plc accounts.
• Working with the wider Group Financial Control team and businesses to ensure all external reporting requirements are met.
• Supporting businesses in the development of their reporting and understanding, including sharing best practice across the businesses.
• Interacting with the external auditors during audit periods.
• Line Management.

What we require from the candidate:

• Fully Qualified accountant with related technical financial accounting experience.
• Foreign Exchange accounting experience.
• Ability to distil and simplify complex data and information.
• Proactive with the ability to prioritise and work under minimal supervision.
• Good understanding of HFM and VBM.
