I am currently recruiting for a Senior Estates Valuation Surveyor on behalf of my client, a leading public sector organisation based in Leicestershire (LE1).

Joining their Asset Strategy, Valuation and Commercial Real Estate Teams. You’ll become part of a professional team, delivering valuation and estate asset management services. Due to expanding speciality we are looking to recruit  senior valuation surveyors, in either our Acquisitions and Disposals team or to join the team in Corporate Estate.   

Duties will include:

  • Acquisition and disposal of property assets, improving marriage value, compulsory purchase orders, sales and lease back, community transfers, redevelopment, regeneration and new developments.
  • Providing a high level professional advice to clients on valuation issues, you’ll work with internal and external teams to identify new opportunities for the council to invest and improve its property and land stock holdings.
  • Preparing and monitoring expenditure and income budgets. You will be involved in inspecting land and buildings. Valuing the various interests as required and negotiating the letting, acquisition/disposal as required.
  • You will also support the management of the Estates function, including attendance at decision-making boards, and deputises for the Service Manager as required. Supervising and managing staff who may be assisting on projects from other sections including allocating and checking work for quality and quantity.
  • Undertake budget planning, forecasting, and monitoring (including arrears).

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in the day to day management of a commercial property and/or estates portfolio of assets in a multi-site environment
  • Substantial experience in providing Red Book Asset Valuations to meet relevant standards
  • Considerable experience in managing project-based development, investment, acquisition and disposal of land and property assets. Negotiating leases/letting and acquisitions, investments and disposals with regard to ensuring optimum return
  • Professional and expert technical knowledge and skill in the development, valuation, commercial or corporate real estate management of property asset portfolios to grow and optimise the portfolio, and, generate revenue and capital receipts to corporate objectives
  • Significant knowledge in understanding land and property purchasing including the production of planned programmes of sale
  • Hold a current RICS Red Book Valuation Certificate (certified RICS Registered Valuer) OR be committed to obtaining this within 6 months of appointment
  • Experience of developing property policy in land and property transactions in relation to acquisitions, disposals, and transfer of assets for Community Governance

This is a full time post, 37 hours per week Monday-Friday. Salary ranges from £48,474 to £51,515 depending on experience.
