Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Rotherham

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum

Role Overview: They are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who will play a key role in the successful delivery of our construction projects. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost and commercial management, from initial estimates to final accounts, ensuring projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for new projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
  • Manage procurement activities, including tendering, negotiating contracts, and selecting suppliers.
  • Monitor project costs and financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Prepare and submit valuations, variations, and final accounts in a timely manner.
  • Provide commercial support to project teams, resolving disputes and managing subcontractor agreements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations are met and risks are effectively managed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, with a focus on residential or commercial projects.
  • Chartered status with RICS or equivalent professional accreditation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management techniques.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as Excel, CCS Candy, and AutoCAD.
