Senior Calibration Engineer (Lab Manager)

Derbyshire

Monday - Friday (40 hrs per week)

£40,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Calibration Engineer (Lab Manager) for a well-established structural / construction materials testing organisation.

This is a Monday to Friday role offering flexible start / finish times, working out of there UKAS accredited laboratory. The company offers a wide range of calibration tests, including Dimensional, Electrical, Mass, and Force & Torque across many types of instrumentation.

Main Duties (not an exhaustive list):

  • Day to day responsibility of the lab
  • Leadership of the Calibration Laboratory team
  • To build strong working relationships with clients & other sites of the business
  • Assist as required in expanding the laboratory scope
  • Perform calibrations as required
  • Working with the Quality team to ensure all regulatory / UKAS lab requirements are met

Experience Required:

  • Science degree in relevant subject
  • Relevant training in metrology and calibration activities
  • Minimum of 5 years working in / managing a team in a UKAS accredited laboratory
  • Minimum of 5 years working within Metrology
  • Understanding of BS ISO 17025
  • Experience producing & managing uncertainty budgets
  • Hands on calibration experience in at least one of the following: Electrical, Dimensional, Pressure, Force & Torque, Temp or Mass
