Senior Buyer

The Company:
If you are an experienced and confident Buyer who is used to working independently within a busy engineering or manufacturing environment: then look no further!  This Exeter manufacturer form part of a large, international business supplying products to the automotive industry.  The Senior Buyer will report directly to the global purchasing manager, in a varied and interesting role.

Job Responsibilities:
  • To achieve timely delivery and supply of production materials to the manufacturing team, whilst maintaining targeted inventory turn performance.
  • Main point of contact and relationship manager for a key supplier.
  • Negotiating cost and lead times with suppliers, communicating material demand to suppliers, effectively managing demand fluctuations.
  • Negotiating cost and lead times with suppliers and expediting materials
  • Overall ownership of a key supplier relationships.
  • Maintain key MRP system data 
  • Preferred Skills:
  • You will be a seasoned Buyer within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Confident user of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word and ideally adept in MRP
  • CIPS Level 4 or above preferred (not essential)
  • Good communication skills to both internal & external customers/suppliers

Hours 8.30-5.30 M-F with a 3pm finish on a Friday
