This esteemed Arts & Luxury practice are actively seeking a Senior Associate (preferably with 4-6 PQE) to join their dynamic team on a full-time, permanent basis.

  • Their specialized Art & Luxury practice provides counsel to a diverse clientele, ranging from artists, private collectors, and international galleries to governments, museums, lenders, and philanthropists.
  • Additionally, they boast extensive experience in other luxury assets, including collector cars, musical instruments, jewelry, wine, and watches.

  • The role of Associate/Senior Associate primarily revolves around handling contentious matters within the team, addressing a spectrum of disputes encompassing artists' rights, cultural property, restitution, street art & brands, insurance, auction house conduct, attribution and authenticity, fakes and forgeries, and more.
  • Moreover, the position entails advisory work, such as anti-money laundering/sanctions, and providing support to the commercial aspect of the practice as needed.
  • You will collaborate closely with the Partners to ensure satisfactory resolution of disputes, overseeing matters and advising clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering clear and high-quality legal advice on contentious matters arising from a range of art, luxury assets, and philanthropic matters
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for clients, offering ongoing advice on existing or new matters
  • Contributing to the growth of the practice by promoting the firm are their work to existing and potential clients
  • Engaging in thought leadership activities, including providing press comments and articles, participating in networking and business development events
  • Assisting in the supervision and mentoring of junior team members.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • A background in a reputable legal practice, with experience in high-value or high-profile commercial disputes with cross-border elements, coupled with a demonstrable interest in and commitment to developing an Art and Luxury practice
  • Qualified Solicitor (ideally 4-6 PQE)
  • Relevant legal qualification - law degree or legal post-graduate qualification in a related field
  • Strong client relationship and business development skills;
  • Exceptional case management abilities
  • Robust academic background with the ability to think creatively and analytically
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
