Home-based with HQ in London. Salary Negoitable but likely to be £30-40K (dep on level of exp) with excellent prospects for career development, full study support, 10% bonus, 30 days holidays, BUPA etc.

Job Title: Senior Accounts Assistant

Reporting to: Group Finance Manager

Overall Responsibility: Day to day accounting duties including the accounts receivable and accounts payable cycles for several group and special purpose vehicle companies

  • Ideal candidate - Studying towards a professional qualification - AAT/CIMA/ACCA. We would like someone who has at least a year’s experience in an accounts assistant role or similar and has performed tasks such as bank postings and recs, posting purchase invoices, raising sales invoices, preparing payments runs, etc. The ideal candidate would be looking to take on some management accounts duties too.

Main Duties:

  • Day to day accounting for multiple companies to include but not limited to;
  • Processing purchase invoices through the purchase order system
  • Processing monthly payment runs (BACS, CHAPS, Euro and other)
  • Performing monthly bank journal postings and reconciliations in multiple currencies
  • Raising and issuing of sales invoices both external and inter-group on a timely basis
  • Posting of childcare, trainline and other vouchers, expenses, etc.
  • Monthly posting and reconciling inter-group trading accounts
  • Daily update of PL reconciliation sheets for group/project companies
  • Assist in quarterly VAT return calculations
  • Support in quarterly and year end budgeting and forecasting
  • Participation in the year-end close process
  • Preparation of ad-hoc financial analysis as required
  • Assist Project Accountants/Finance Managers to perform quarter-end closing (accruals, prepayments, etc)
  • Assist Project Accountants/Finance Managers in production of board reports
  • Assist Project Accountants/Finance Managers in preparing model updates
  • Investigate and resolve internal or external queries
  • Support the wider finance team with any ad hoc tasks

Candidate

  • Early stage ACCA, CIMA
  • Able to work effectively within a team
  • Good communication skills both written and oral
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Able to work under pressure and deliver to agreed deadlines with attention to detail
  • Experience of solving problems and implementing solutions
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel
  • Experience in Infor SunSystems preferred
