Due to an influx of business, an opportunity for a Senior Accountant has arisen to join a reputable organisation, based in the heart of Portsmouth on a 3-month temporary assignment. As Senior Accountant, you will be offered remote working days, great public sector exposure, and the chance to develop your skills.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Supporting the revenue and capital budget process
  • Budget forecasting and monitoring
  • Providing financial advice to various departments
  • Ensuring the completion of statutory financial statements
  • Assisting with ensuring that business assets are managed in line with current legislation
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to support the strategic aims of the business
  • Assisting in the management of the accountancy team

What you will need:
  • To be a qualified accountant – CIMA / ACCA / ACA
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as Senior Accountant / Accountant / Technical Accountant / Statutory Accountant / Finance Manager / Assistant Accountant / Management Accountant
  • A good understanding of legislation relating to public sector finance
