Senior Accountant - IFRS Technical Accounting

Your new role
Hays Senior Finance are recruiting for a senior technical accountant on behalf of a fantastic employer. This newly created non-managerial role will support the wider finance team with technical accounting guidance, specifically applying IFRS to complex transactions.
You'll be developing accounting principles for new products, acquisition and investment projects and will be a technical expert in the local function, as part of an international team. You will be responsible for;

• IFRS Expertise: Deep dive into complex IFRS topics, especially those impacting commodity transactions (IFRS 9, 10, 15, 16, IAS 37, 2)
• Financial Acumen: Assess new products, acquisitions, and investment projects, ensuring financial soundness and alignment with accounting principles
• Project Maestro: Coordinate and manage accounting projects from start to finish, driving efficiency and accuracy
• Accounting Architect: Refine and develop accounting principles, ensuring they adapt to changing regulations and business needs
• Financial Reporting Guru: Support the preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and HGB
• Decision Support Jedi: Contribute to the development of decision templates for the executive committee, empowering informed strategic choices
• Auditor Liaison: Serve as the contact for auditors' inquiries, fostering a transparent and collaborative relationship

What you'll need to succeed
You'll need to be a fully qualified accountant with post-qualification experience in a financial reporting position within a large group business, either from the financial or industrial sector.
You'll also need to be able to;

• Navigate the complexities of IFRS with confidence, ensuring seamless application in your daily work
• Orchestrate projects with efficiency and clarity, ensuring tasks are delivered on time and within budget
• Thrive in a dynamic environment where continuous learning is key. You readily embrace new challenges and quickly master new skills
