Senior Account Manager

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior Account Manager to join our QBE Distribution Team, London & Southeast. This is an exciting opportunity to work across several key broker partners in the London Market focussing on new business opportunities and key account retention.  The role includes building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, identifying key opportunities, presenting solutions using the range of QBE products and services available and working collaboratively with business units including underwriting, claims, marketing, risk solutions and multinational.

Your New Role:

  • Build rapport with key decision makers within key broking partner. Engage with broker leadership teams to build understanding of QBE's approach and logic.
  • Nurture relationships with internal stakeholders to drive support and collaboration with Market Management to achieve new business and retention plans.
  • Lead the quarterly MTP broker pipeline and review meetings for PCM, Financial Lines and Construction. Building long term pipeline for strategic account planning.
  • Strengthening relationships between key stakeholders within leadership, portfolio management and broker counterparts, where needed.
  • Support Product, Risk Management, Claims and Multinational in innovation and service delivery. Seeking out future opportunities that will continue to build product awareness and present QBE proposition.
  • Project manage cross-class new business proposals including tender response and leading pitches.
  • Chair internal trading forums incorporating several products, maximising cross class and long-term opportunities and build strategic account plans.
  • Support London & Southeast Distribution Team by sharing experiences, guidance, and best practice to enhance learning and development.

About you:  

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and trust at all levels internally and externally.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence both directly and indirectly in complex and challenging situations.
  • Varying sales tactics to identify and understand the needs of the client and broker and articulate these back to the business.
  • Strong reasoning capabilities – creative and lateral thinking, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence to present and lead discussions.
