GSL Education are currently looking for motivated and passionate Teachers with a desire to work with secondary aged pupils with  ASD, SEMH and different neurodivergent needs in a specialist school near Newcastle City Centre 

The school is a friendly and supportive specialist setting who believe that every child matters and has a strong focus on achieving positive outcomes. The school caters for pupils aged 11-16. 

The school is easy to reach by car or public transport. This role is LONG TERM with a strong possibility of becoming permanent after a qualifying period. Applications are welcomed from applicants with any subject specialism 

Working days are Monday to Friday with hours of 8.30-4.30. The role officially starts in September - but earlier start dates will be considered !

We ask that you have 

  • Experience or the desire to work with a variety of needs that include ASD, SEMH and Complex Needs.
  • The ability to Plan and deliver lessons to  SEN students 
  • At least 1 years' experience teaching in a school, SEN or mainstream . Placement experience will be considered also 
  • Strong and positive behaviour management
  • Kindness, empathy and patience
  • The ability for direct and support teaching assistants within your class
  • A UK recognised teaching qualification
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to complete an immediate application 
  • Availability for at least two terms from September
