Receptionist
  • Hourly Rate: £12.31 - £12.65

  • Job Type: Full-time, Term Time Only

We are seeking a dedicated Receptionist to join our team at a leading education centre in Caterham, Surrey. This role offers a competitive hourly rate and the chance to be part of a supportive and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be the face of the centre, managing reception duties and providing administrative support.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all visitors, ensuring adherence to safeguarding processes, including ID checks and signing in/out procedures.
  • Handle telephone queries with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Manage gate control and liaise with office suppliers.
  • Maintain and update records and statistical data, including stationery and office supplies inventory.
  • Perform accurate filing, indexing, and retrieval of documents.
  • Prepare documents, reports, and presentations as required.
  • Keep computer records up to date and manage post and diary.
  • Maintain the reception area’s condition and coordinate repairs with the Maintenance team.
  • Assist and liaise with the Referrals team, handling phone enquiries and organising assessment dates.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, with at least 5 GCSEs above grade 4 (or equivalent), including English and Maths (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven experience in an administrative role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new databases.
  • Effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks.
  • Discretion, confidentiality, and reliability.
