The Role

SEN Primary Teacher (FTC Maternity Cover)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm (4pm Friday) Contract Fixed Term, Term Time only

As a SEN Primary Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupil's achievement and ability to develop. This is a great opportunity for a Primary Teacher who wants to spend less time on paperwork and more time developing creative learning opportunities for pupils with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible. When it comes to looking after our pupils, we never settle for second best.

Essential skills and experience

* QTS
* Experience of Primary Education Desirable:
* SEN experience
* SEN or other related qualification
* 2 or more years classroom experience preferably in primary education

The School

The School is an independent special school for young people aged 8 -18 years with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The school is semi-rural with stunning views and fantastic facilities to develop not only the educational, but also the social and emotional needs of our pupils. With access to woods and lakes on site, the school has an ethos about delivering a personalised curriculum tailored to, and driven by, the individuals. Behaviour is currently rated as "Outstanding" by Ofsted.
