Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young lives? Do you have a heart for helping children thrive in their learning environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated SEND Learning Mentor to join our vibrant team at a welcoming primary school in Leeds. This is a full-time role to start in May 2024.

About the school:

A newly refurbished multi-million pound primary school in the Wakefield district with a passion for learning, development and inclusivity. With beautiful fields and large areas of open space, it's a great environment for the pupils in KS1 and KS2.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and group support to students with behavioural and SEMH needs, ensuring their emotional and educational well-being.

  • Implement strategies and interventions designed to support positive behaviour and foster social and emotional growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and the school's multidisciplinary team to create tailored support plans.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment that encourages learning and empowers children to achieve their full potential.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a passion for working with SEND students and challenging behaviour
  • Assess the needs of the children and support their needs
  • Have the ability to communicate and engage with students
  • Have excellent behaviour management skills
  • Have a commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of students
  • Be a positive role model for students
  • Carrying out one-to-one support
  • Monitoring pupil progress and behaviour

We:

  • Offer an excellent 'refer a friend’ scheme that pays you £50 for each candidate you refer to us after they have worked and been paid for their first 10 days
  • Pay in line with the Agency Worker Regulations (AWR) meaning you will be paid equally to a permanent employee
  • Ensure that you will have your own dedicated consultant who will provide ongoing support and guidance
  • Give you access to a wide range of CPD training through our in-house team of experienced senior leaders
