Purpose of the Role

The role of the Security Supervisor is to ensure the overall smooth running of the site, including the recruitment and training of all security staff, whilst maintaining at all times a safe and pleasant environment for our tenants, visitors and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the overall effectiveness and efficiency of security provision.
  • Compilation and distribution of duty rotas.
  • Ensure Security Officers are performing their duties to the appropriate standards required by the business.
  • Undertake recruitment and selection of new staff and be responsible for administering the Company’s disciplinary procedures.
  • Complete annual appraisals on all members of site security and making all such records available for examination.
  • Mentor security officers on their appraisals and advise them on how to improve their performance where required.
  • Report any significant security incidents, to the National Operations Centre and Safety + teams ensuring a full investigation has been completed to establish all facts.
  • Ensure close liaison with the local Police, CTSA and other local enforcing agents and encourage communication amongst tenants.
  • Ensure staff attend company training days when required and carry out on site training for new personnel, in particular CCTV and alarms control.
  • Ensure all aspects of health and safety are followed, in particular those identified within the H&S procedures manual.
  • Ensure all aspects of staff management are followed, in particular those identified within the Employee Handbook.
  • Co-ordinate with tenants during an evacuation.
  • Co-ordinating events and attendance on site for all events.
  • Undertaking on-site training for emergency procedures etc.
  • Ensure that Assignment Intrusions, SOP’s & Risk Assessments are reviewed regularly, remain in date and signed by all Security operatives.
  • In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, ensure that all officers must hold a valid SIA Security Licence and where necessary a Public Space Surveillance Licence.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Candidates will be required to demonstrate the following:

Essential

  • Experience in the provision of security services at a Supervisor level, in a busy corporate environment
  • In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, officers must hold a valid SIA Security Licence and where necessary a Public Space Surveillance Licence.
  • Effective people management skills & good team building skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
  • A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of legislative health & safety requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent levels of customer service, at all times.
  • Honest and reliable work ethic.
  • Willingness to partake in on-site training for emergency procedures.
  • Excellent Organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to work patterns and work weekends/evenings as and when required
  • Willingness to undertake additional training and career development.
  • Well presented.
  • Accurate record keeping with good attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Ability to use full range of Microsoft applications inc. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Experience of direct liaison with Police, Fire and Government Enforcement office.
  • Operational knowledge of Timegate.

Working Hours - 42hrs per week, 4on 4off Shift Pattern (Days Only) 

Salary - £15.14
