Reed Education is seeking an English Teacher for a vibrant secondary school in Hull. This full-time role is an immediate start until the end of the academic year. The ideal candidate will be confident in delivering the English Curriculum whilst demonstrating passion for both literature and language.


Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging English literature and language lessons across KS3.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the classroom, supporting and guiding students as needed.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to plan and coordinate lessons.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to help them improve.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the curriculum.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • QTS Teaching qualification (PGCE, SCITT, MEd, Cert. Ed, etc.) or equivalent.
  • A relevant BA/MA in English Literature & Language or a related subject
  • Ambition and enthusiasm for teaching English literature and language.
  • Experience teaching across KS3.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Newly Qualified Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
  • Right to Work in the UK (Visa Sponsorship not provided).
