The Graduate:
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in a science.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the field of science.
  • Strong understanding of scientific concepts and confidence in your ability to share this knowledge with KS3 and KS4 students.
  • A clear communication style and a warm, approachable personality.
  • Previous experience of working with students, or in a school setting, advantageous but not mandatory.

The Role
As a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting teaching staff in the supporting of students aged 11-16 in both 1-2-1 and small group bases. You will monitor and track students progress in maths GCSE lessons and use this understanding to adapt learning materials to suit each individual student. It is essential in this Science Graduate Teaching Assistant position that you use your friendly personality to build strong bonds with students and staff and partake in activities involving the wider school community to maintain a positive learning environment.
