Hours per week: 36

Contract: Until at least February 2025

Rate: £23.57 umbrella an hour

Remote working (Need to attend the office once a month)

  • This role would suit someone with extensive recovery and enforcement experience who has similar experience in a customer services environment.
  • It is based within the Council Tax Enforcement Team & involves a minimum of 50% call centre telephone work (depending on volumes).
  • Duties are the maximisation of revenue by negotiating arrangements with debtors, ensuring collection of Council Tax including aged arrears.
  • Making decisions on the most appropriate course of enforcement action.
  • Dealing with telephone and written enquiries and also working from system reports, setting attachment to earnings and benefits, tracing absconders, reviewing Financial Statements etc.
  • Dealing with enforcement agent queries and returns, providing debt advice and welfare benefits advice as needed.
  • 38 hour standard week with potential for up to 45 hours if work & budget allows.
  • Mainly working from home but required to attend the office approximately once a month to assist face to face at evening summons surgery for customers, team meetings and training.
  • Potential to be required to attend Magistrates Court in the future to assist customers who attend in person.

Required skills

  • at least 2 years recent Council Tax Recovery experience
  • Proficient in using Academy for processing
