Recycling and Forklift Operative

Working on site for our client based in Rochford, Essex reporting directly to the Yard Manager we are looking for an all-round experienced Recycling and Forklift Operative with ideally weighbridge knowledge although full training will be given.

We are looking for someone focused and hungry with recent relevant forklift experience who can be trained in other areas and whose skills our client can develop into other areas of the operation.

Duties will include: 

Yard Duties:

  • Operating reach and counterbalance forklifts to move materials around site and load containers
  • Supporting Yard Manager to keep materials segregated
  • Working to keep the operation safe, clean and well organised
  • Assisting with grading, selecting and sorting materials
  • Greasing / Oiling and fuelling machinery

Office Duties:

  • Preparing and filing weighbridge tickets and delivery notes
  • Supporting in the coordination of logistics and transport

Requirements:

  • Good literacy skills to be able to prepare documents in a professional manner
  • Excellent communication skills with colleagues and clients / transport providers
  • Willingness to learn, be open to criticism and willing to adapt to the needs of the business
  • Strong team player

** DUE TO LOCATION, YOU WOULD NEED TO BE A CAR OWNER AND DRIVER **

Salary:                         Up to £30,000 PA

Days and Hours:          Monday to Friday 40 hrs (7am – 4pm) per week (occasional O/T at weekends)
