Job Opportunity: Quantity Surveyor (Civils, Rail, and Groundworks)

Salary: £60,000 -£80,000
Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a passion for civil engineering, rail projects, and groundworks? We have an exciting opportunity for an immediate start within our well-established Quantity Surveying Firm.
Role Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing costs, contracts, and financial aspects of projects related to civil engineering, rail infrastructure, and groundworks. Your expertise will contribute to the successful delivery of high-profile projects in the Colchester and Suffolk regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Monitor project costs, prepare estimates, and manage budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contract Administration: Administer contracts, handle variations, and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
- Measurement and Valuation: Accurately measure quantities, assess work completed, and value variations.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate risks related to cost, time, and quality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on project financials, progress, and cost forecasts.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, rail, or groundworks projects.
- Availability: Immediate availability to join our team.
- Location: Based in Colchester or Suffolk.
- Qualifications: Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or related field.
- Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Software: Proficiency in industry-standard QS software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft, or similar).
