Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector at their site in Aldershot,

to perform mechanical inspection, document inspection results, input data into quality

database, raising and signing release documents (CofC, Advice Notes, etc.) in line with company

directives and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspects and approves incoming/outgoing materials/products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and reporting to Head of Inspection/QA any non conforming materials/products
  • Perform first off, in-process and final inspection by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor/operator
  • Read technical drawings, control plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database. Raising and signing release documents (CofC, Advice Notes, etc.)
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and reporting to QA any faulty or out of calibration equipment
  • Communicating with the Quality/Engineering department about how to prevent similar defects in the future
  • Carry out such other reasonable duties within the business from time to time
  • Adhere to the company’s health and safety requirements and complete training as required

Skills and Qualifications/experience:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of quality control/inspection standards and testing techniques/methods (use of micrometers, verniers, DTis, height gauges, CMM, etc.)
  • Strong understanding technical drawings and GD&T
  • Good math and technical skills
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • General knowledge of gear metrology would be preferred
  • FAIR/PPAP knowledge would be preferred
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment/under pressure

Hours:

Mon -Thur: 07:00 – 15:45, Fri: 06:00 – 13:00

Agreed overtime will be paid at x1.5
