Quality Engineer

Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire
Salary up to £38k depending upon experience

The Quality Engineer will be responsible (working with the QHSE Manager) for developing and leading quality related improvement programmes and internal opportunities for improvement including:

  • Being actively involved in the NPI process ensuring all Quality requirements are understood and implemented, including generation of downstream QA documentation
  • Involved in internal audits and 3rd party supplier audits
  • Working closely with Operations / Shop Floor, Customers and Suppliers to ensure non-conformances are investigated, remediated and effective corrective actions implemented
  • Ensuring that product quality requirements are not compromised through process change

The Quality Engineer will have to:

  • Apply Quality Tools and Techniques to effect robust non-conformance investigation and resolution

    • Measurement Systems Analysis (R&R)
    • Statistical Process Control
    • Root Cause Analysis
    • Design of Experiment
    • Eight Disciplines
    • PDCA cycle
  • Ability to read and interpret technical Engineering Drawings (GD&T)
  • Complete Quality elements of the NPI process
  • Create quality assurance documentation (FAIR, Quality Plans, Inspection Test Plans etc)
  • Define, implement, and monitor corrective and preventive actions
  • CMM programming - would be beneficial

The ideal Quality Engineer will have:

  • Minimum HNC Mechanical/ Manufacturing or Production Engineering qualification
  • External Auditor Training
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Working knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Ideally from a machine shop environment

This role will suit an individual with previous experience in quality assurance with great motivational, organisational and planning skills.

*** Applicants will need to pass security clearance to work on highly sensitive client projects. Therefore you will need to have to Indefinite Leave to Remain status or be a British citizen.
