Quality Control Inspector Engineering Bias

My client in Oldham is looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team

Hours are Monday to Thursday 7am til 4pm and Friday 7am til 12pm

Salary is circa £30k - please be apply and i will discuss further

You will be trained on a CMM Machine for inspection if you have not previously used one but it is essential you come from a machining background and have used hand gauge tools to inspect products

Purpose of the Job:

• To conduct inspection of goods inward components and materials.
• To raise rejections notices on suppliers.
• To convert internal rejections into supplier returns.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:

• Conduct normal activities associated with the functional needs of a quality department, the request of supervision.
• To provide a consistently high value, high quality material control service for all machined goods incoming into the business.
• Inspect machined parts using a combination of handheld measuring tools and the CNC co-ordinate measuring machine (CMM).
• Program the CMM to ensure conformance to design standards making sure full traceability is maintained during the manufacturing process.
• To Record all non-conformances and update system inform the Quality Department and actively manage the timely turnaround of rejected parts.
• Store inspected products in accordance with project requirements; file associates paperwork on the system checking its legibility.
• To carry out goods inwards inspection of all bought in parts in accordance with company procedures, using as reference engineering drawings, purchase orders, or other associated specification either national or international.
• Assist with internal and external reject investigations.

Qualifications & Technical knowledge:

Essential

• Has experience of running own machines
• Has used hand gauge tools to inspect products
• Ability to conduct first principles inspection using handheld measuring equipment.
• Methodical approach to workload with demonstrable attention to detail.

Desirable

• Be able to program and run a CMM (Mitutyo MCOSMOS)
• Working as part of a team.
• Working to a deadline.
• Capable of setting and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards.
• Ability to use a Mitutoyo Formtrace
