We are working exclusively with Zip Pak who are a market leading Global Manufacturer of innovative resealable products based in Whitby. They are now looking for a new QHSE Manager to ensure that the Health and Safety, Environment and ISO / BRC Quality systems, policies and procedures are maintained across both their Whitby and Netherland’s facility.

What the QHSE Manager job involves

  • You will design and deliver training across the site to your colleagues on Health and Safety procedures and the quality standards for ISO 9001, 14001, and BRC.
  • Making sure all quality systems and processes are kept up to date at all times as well as liaising with external ISO & BRC authorities around audits and keeping accreditations up to date.
  • Carry out internal and supplier audits for all sites.
  • Reviewing all systems continually and implementing new and updated HS&E procedures and legislative changes.
  • Working with staff and colleagues of all levels from operatives through to senior management to make sure that all Quality and HSE procedures are adhered to and sharing best practice across both sites.
  • Making sure that there is a culture of safety awareness across the business and operating a Near Miss / Safety Catch programme.

Skills required

  • Previous experience of working within Quality, Health and Safety based roles.
  • NEBOSH qualification or working towards it.
  • A background in Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction, Distribution or a similar industry.
  • Someone who is used to managing processes autonomously.
  • Customer facing experience to liaise directly with the end client if there are any issues that arise.
  • Ability to take ownership of a problem and work with the team to find a solution.

  • This is a permanent and full time position based in Whitby.
  • Travel required to their Netherlands facility bi monthly.
