Project Accountant

• Annual Salary: £50,000

• Job Type: Full-time, 6-month FTC

We are currently seeking a Project Accountant for a 6-month fixed-term contract, with a salary of £50,000. This office-based role in Colindale is a unique opportunity to support the merger of two charities by leading the budget consolidation process and developing a new cost code structure. The ideal candidate will have strong budgeting skills, experience with Sage 50, and the ability to work collaboratively with managers and accounting staff.

• Collaborate with managers on specific budget lines, particularly maintenance.
• Coordinate the draft results of the team’s budget work.
• Prepare summary budget papers for initial review by the Leadership team.
• Develop and present papers for the Finance Committee.
• Coordinate the dissemination of the approved budget to budget holders.
• Input budget details into the accounting system (Sage 50).
• Develop a cash flow forecast based on the budget.
• Review and test the cost code structure with reporting requirements.
• Liaise with the accounting team to prepare schedules of the new agreed accounts code structure for use by the accounts team and all stakeholders.

• Proven experience as a Project Accountant or in a similar role, preferably within the non-profit sector.
• Strong understanding of budgeting and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Sage 50 and other financial software.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a team and independently.
