Our client is a Legal 500 insurance firm based in central Manchester looking to bring an accomplished senior solicitor on board to head up the professional indemnity team.

The firm is focussed on specialist commercial insurance for professionals and traders, primarily covering management and professional liability. Coverage work also makes up the bulk of the caseload and these files range from small claims to multi-million-pound disputes. Key work comes from construction professional, non-profit organisations, service contractors, accountants, care practitioners and various other kinds of professionals.

The Role

  • Provide strategic leadership, supporting, leading and managing the wider professional indemnity team
  • Grow and develop the PI team where possible, providing strategy and direction at a senior level
  • Manage a varied caseload and supervise and mentor junior members of staff
  • Carry out general management covering governance, compliance and supplier management

Suitable Candidates

  • You must have significant experience and expertise within a professional negligence and indemnity environment, preferably with a focus on construction disputes
  • Demonstrable management experience with an interest in further supervisory and management responsibilities
  • Strong business development experience with an interest and capability to bring new business and develop new legal/insurance relationships

Working Benefits

  • Salary up to 95k + 20% bonus
  • 25 days holiday
