Production Planner

Butler Rose are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our client a dynamic business based near Honiton. As a Production Planner, you will play a crucial role in coordinating manufacturing operations and ensuring the smooth flow of production processes. If you have a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for efficient planning, we would like to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed analysis of Engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to facilitate informed make/buy decisions.
• Generate production part numbers and develop manufacturing BOMs when required.
• Issue production orders to initiate manufacturing activities.
• Collaborate with other Production Planners to minimise scheduling conflicts across Operations departments.
• Provide clear instructions to the Purchasing team regarding procurement requirements and delivery schedules.
• Obtain agreement from stakeholders if planned dates deviate from requested dates.
• Identify critical path items and liaise with Purchasing to expedite their procurement.
• Initiate requests for quotations for parts through collaboration with the Purchasing department.
• Maintain up-to-date price information for items to be sold by the Sales department.
• Estimate material and labour costs to support bidding activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policy in managing Personal Data.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in production planning or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in analysing Engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
• Proficient in using production planning software and MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
