Role - Principal Mechanical Engineer

Location- Liverpool

Salary - Up to £55,000

Torque Consulting is currently seeking a Principle Mechanical Engineer for a global engineering company based in the Liverpool. They offer world-class solutions to their clients who are based globally. They design manufacture and install a variety of systems, and have sites in the UK, Europe and USA. They are growing rapidly and this is an exciting time to join the comapny and help make an impact. This position is pivotal to helping the company grow so they are looking for talented driven individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing projects from concept to production, including design and detailing
  • To assist in the preparation, implementation and maintaining of specifications for standard project products for use by the sales department.
  • To assist in the preparation, implementation and maintaining of prime costs of all standard projects products for use by the sales department.
  • ISO9001: to assist in the implementation, maintenance and operation of ISO 9001 quality management system within the technical department
  • Assist in the development of the 'future state’ Technical plan:
  • Implement Drive Works (if approved).
  • Work systems & procedures that capture best practice.
  • Achieve good degree of standardization of components.
  • Divide team between Technical, NPD, Manufacturing support.
  • Detail Design: To assist in the mentoring and guiding of junior design engineers to ensure: Cost effective designs are developed to meet customers’ expectations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other engineering tools for design and analysis.
  • Automation experience would be desirable
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in mechanical engineering, with a focus on design, analysis, and project management.
  • Effective skills in terms of performance management, teamwork, motivation, delegation and discipline are essential
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical data, perform calculations, and make informed decisions.
  • Able to build effective working relations with staff members and external clients to the highest level
