Principal Drainage Engineer- Southampton

My client, a specialist UK based Engineering Consultancy which specialises in Drainage, Civil and Structural Engineering, is searching for a Principal Engineer to join an established team of Flood Risk and Drainage specialists based in Southampton.

It is essential that applicants have a strong academic background in a relevant discipline including a BSc and/or MSc in Civil Engineering or Hydrology and experience working for a UK based Consultancy or Local Authority completing complex Flood Risk Assessments for flood zones 2 and 3, Drainage Strategies and Residential Drainage Designs in respect of S104 and S106 using Microdrainage or Causeway Flow.

It is also beneficial for applicants to reside locally.

This exciting role will offer candidates the opportunity to join a team of experienced Engineers to work on varied flood risk, surface water and drainage projects for residential, commercial, mixed-use developments, new towns and holiday parks for Private Sector Clients and Local Authorities. You will also have the opportunity to manage varied projects for a variety of public and private sector clients, check technical drawings and mentor team members.

Applicants will also be required to check and complete the following;

-Flood Risk Assessments for flood zones 1,2 and 3.

-Surface Water Management Plans.

-Surface Water and Foul Drainage Strategies.

-Detailed Residential Drainage and Sewerage Design using AutoCAD, Causeway and Microdrainage for S104 and S106.

-Drainage Area Planning.

-Mentoring and Project Management.
