1:1 Early Years Teaching Assistant

  • Location: Plymouth
  • Salary: £90 per day
  • Job Type: Temporary (until July 2024, with potential for permanency)

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children with special educational needs (SEN) at a reputable Primary school in Plymouth. This role is an immediate start and offers the potential to become a permanent position after July 2024.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a young child with anxiety and challenging behaviour, who is on an Education, Health, and Care Plan (ECHP).
  • Foster a positive learning experience and promote the child’s well-being within a supportive SEN environment.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Use assistive techniques to support the child’s learning and development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a holistic support plan.
  • Maintain accurate records of the child’s progress and interventions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Essential experience with children with SEN.
  • Patience, empathy, and a consistently positive attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to individual learning styles and needs.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff and parents.
