A vibrant primary school in LS9 is seeking a dedicated Nursery Assistant to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic environment, contributing to the development and care of young children during their formative years.
Day to day of the role:- Assist in the delivery of creative and educational activities for children in the nursery setting.
- Support the physical, social, emotional, and educational development of children, under the guidance and supervision of the nursery teacher.
- Help to prepare and maintain the learning environment, ensuring it is safe and welcoming for children.
- Observe children’s progress and behaviour, reporting any concerns to the nursery teacher.
- Engage with children during play and learning activities, encouraging positive interactions.
- Assist with the preparation of snacks and meals, and supervise children during meal times.
- Help children with personal care, including toileting and changing nappies if required.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with parents, carers, and staff.
- A genuine passion for working with young children.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Patience, empathy, and a caring nature.
- Relevant qualifications in childcare or early years education (NVQ, CACHE, BTEC, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting is advantageous.
