Monday to Thursday 7am-4pm, Friday 7am-12 Midday

Our client are recruiting a Temporary to Permanent Press and Small Fabrications Setter Operator.To be responsible for the production of small, fabricated components, press work, clips, and earthing bonding leads from setting up to completion. The post holder will be required to use HARE presses, fly presses, small equipment and hand tools to complete their work. The post holder will need to demonstrate flexibility and be willing to work in various areas of the shop floor as and when requested by the Operations Manager and undertake extra responsibilities as necessitated by business requirements.
Press and Small Fabrications Setter Operator Duties
- Setup and operate press and form tooling to manufacture components to drawings.
- To assemble, clean, and solder components as required
- To assemble, and spot weld components as required
- Check drawing number and issue status is correct to work order
- Check materials and parts are correctly identified
- Ensure all previous operations are correctly endorsed and stamped to verify conformity; and report any deviations to the above checks to the cell leader.
- Ensure all operations are completed as planned
- Ensure the first off inspection is carried out and the route card is endorsed at each applicable operation
- Check that all products within the batch conforms to the requirements of the operation; and segregate any non-conforming product and report it to your cell leader
- To liaise with all other departments as required to ensure smooth and efficient progress of all sales requirements
- To ensure compliance with relevant Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, performance,policies and procedures.
- Able to use Fly press tooling, guillotine, soldering and spot welding equipment.
- Experience in assembly, soldering and manufacturing techniques.
- Able to measure accurately.

Press and Small Fabrications Setter Operator Requirements
- Must display a positive attitude and be keen to learn.
- Must have a keen eye for detail and high levels of concentration, taking pride in both the product and working environment.
- Good communication skills to promote good team working.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work on your own initiative.
- ONC/HND production Engineering or relevant equivalent Mechanical Engineering qualification or having served a manufacturing apprenticeship (preferred)
