Career Opportunity: Practice Accountant
Location: Rotherham, UK - Office Based
Salary Range: £27,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Verus Recruitment is delighted to partner with a distinguished multi-disciplinary professional services firm in the search for a dedicated and forward-thinking Practice Accountant. This crucial position resides within our client's Rotherham team and presents a prime opportunity to contribute significantly to the organisation's continued success and client service excellence.

Role Overview:
You will play a vital role in managing and overseeing client bookkeeping, preparing complex financial statements, and engaging in various accounting and administrative tasks. This position requires a unique blend of accounting expertise, client service orientation, and a proactive approach to professional development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing client bookkeeping and managing a personal portfolio of clients.
  • Preparation of complex financial statements, interim management accounts, and tax returns.
  • Participation in client meetings and collaboration with directors and business owners.
  • Contribution to the training and development of team members.
  • Involvement in company secretarial duties and various accounting/administrative tasks as needed.
Ideal Candidate:
  • At least 2 years of experience within an accountancy practice environment.
  • Proficiency in Xero is essential; familiarity with Sage 50, QuickBooks, and Iris Sage Business Cloud is advantageous.
  • Qualified by experience or part-qualified ACA/ACCA.
  • Demonstrates excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities.
