Our Client based in Rushden is looking for a Planning & Logistics Controller to join their existing team.

The purpose of the Planning & Logistics Controller is to ensure the smooth management of the company’s operations. The position requires liaison with their clients customers, outside contractors (transport/sub-contractors), their service team, and their sales team, to organise and ensure all movements take place as planned, ensuring exceptional customer service at all times.

This role is the magic ingredient that nits their service offering together.

Key Responsibilities of the Planning & Logistics Controller are:

  • Effective resource scheduling
  • Organisation of all Movements including but not limited to scheduling of service team, third party transport and suppliers
  • Point of Contact for our Customers, ensuring all communication is dealt with in an efficient, friendly and professional manner
  • Cost control management
  • Responsible for Availability and Allocation of all Plant
  • Processing of Hire Contracts and associated paperwork to include On and Off hires
  • Issuing of Certificates and ensuring Compliance at all times
  • Upkeep of Training Records
  • Abide by Systems and Procedure and contribute to continuous improvements

This position demands a high level of inter-personal skills and an ability to influence and negotiate both internally and externally.
The ability to multitask and to work under pressure will be key requirements of the job holder, as well as the ability to adapt to ever changing environments.
Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office is a requirement, as are good written and verbal communication skills and organisation skills.
The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate an ability to contribute to and work flexibly as part of a small team.

Candidates must have a minimum of two years relevant experience of a Hire Desk or Transport Logistics (or similar) and resource scheduling, while experience within the plant hire industry would be an advantage.
